Treat to Tenants

July 1879

Mexborough and Swinton Times, August 22.

Treat to Tenants.

On Monday last, the 18th, Caleb Kilner, of the Glass Works, gave a tea to the whole of his tenants.

The parents were the first to sit down to the repast, and after they had enjoyed the good things provided, the gate place the children, and gave every evidence that they knew what was good.

After the creature comforts had been fully enjoyed, the company drew together, and were addressed by the Rev John Pickup, and also by Mr Kilner, who hoped that the good understanding which existed between himself and his workers would never wane, but might continue as long as life should last.
