Two Miners Killed.

Runaway Corves at Cadeby.

Two Denaby men, named Robinson Cummings (31), and David Bamford, both married men, living respectively at 6, Ardwick Street and Braithwell Street, lost their lives in a shocking accident at the Cadeby Colliery, yesterday morning.

A third man, Willie Berry, a deputy, lies in a critical condition at the Fullerton Hospital.

The three men wore working in No. drift, No. 1 North District, near some other workmen who were engaged in repairing a rope. This had been got into working order, and “all clear” was signalled by Berry in answer to question by man named Barber.

Unfortunately, when the rope was put on, a number of empty tubs attached ran away, and caught the three men.

Cummings was killed outright, while Bamford died in Fullerton Accident Hospital in the afternoon.
