University Post for Former Morley Place Student

Mr James H. Blakelock, M.sc, M. B. CH. B., a former student at the Mexborough Secondary School, has been appointed to the post of assistant bacteriologist at the Sheffield University.

He entered the secondary school in 1915 from the Morley Place boys school, Conisborough, and matriculated in 1919. He took the Higher Certificate examination two years later with distinction in physics, and was awarded a County Major Scholarship.

He then entered the Sheffield University, to take both the medical and science degrees in the minimum period. He gained his B.sc with honours in physiology.

Mr Blakelock has served on the staff of the Lodge Moor Isolation Hospital and the Royal Hospital, Sheffield.
