A Water Scheme For Old Denaby
150 Years Before Cost Is Paid Off

An announcement about the proposed permanent water supply for Old Denaby to replace the existing carted supply from Conisborough and the well supplies was forthcoming to-night’s meeting of the Old Denaby Council by Mr. G. O. Randerson, the Old Denaby representative on the Doncaster Rural Council, who expressed the view the supply would be provided in the very near future.

Plans of the proposed scheme were submitted to the Council, and Mr. Banderson explained the water would be brought by three and a half miles land main from Clifton Reservoir, Conisborough. The whole scheme was now in the hands of the Minister of Health, and in view of the prevailing circumstances it was not anticipated he would order inquiry.

It was stated the cost of the scheme was approximately £3,400, but the estimated revenue would only be £27. and Mr. B. Dunn, Clerk, pointed out that view of that small revenue and the Interest which would have to be paid the scheme it would take 150 years for Old Denaby to pay for the scheme.
