Funeral Of A Cadeby Victim
The Late Mr. G. Whitton.

The funeral of one of the victims of the Cadeby disaster took place at Denaby on Friday week, the Rev. S.F. Hawkes officiated.

The deceased was a popular figure in Denaby, being a member of the Ambulance Brigade, and also a member of the Ambulance Band for over six years.

There was a large attendance of mourners including :-

Mr. and Mrs. Sewell, Mrs. Cutts ( Rotherham ), Mr. and Mrs. Vickers,
Mr. and Mrs. Flinders, Mr. and Mrs. Sewell, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice ( Maltby ),
Harry Maurice, Harry and Elizabeth Maurice ( Mexborough ),
Mr. and Mrs. Holmes ( Denaby ), Mr. and Mrs. S. Panton,
Mr. and Mrs. Jeffcote ( Denaby ), Mrs. Smalley ( Mexborough ),
Mrs. Liversedge ( Mexborough ), Mrs. Mullins ( Mexborough ), Mrs. Stead ( Mexborough ), Mrs. Clarke ( Melton ), Mr. Bramham,
Mr. T. Bunting, Mr. H. Bunting, Mr. W. Bunting ( Mexborough ),
Mr. and Mrs. Pearson ( West Melton ), and a large number of other friends and relatives.

The Denaby Ambulance Band attended, and played the `Dead March´, and `The Last Call´. The Ambulance Brigade also attended in full.

A large number of wreaths were received, including the following :-
Wife and Family, Mother and Father, Sisters, Mr. Maurice ( Maltby ), Mr. Barrington Seed (Doncaster ), Mrs. Hurst ( Doncaster ). Flowers from neighbours and friends.

Mr. Whitton and family desire to thank all friends and relatives for the many messages of sympathy in their sad bereavement, and also to thank the nursing staff at the hospital.
