Young Denaby Couple’s Troubles.

A young Denaby couple who, married only seven months ago, had already parted three times, recounted their grievances to the Doncaster magistrates on Saturday, when Florence M. Wright (18). summoned her husband, Sidney Wright (22), miner, for persistent cruelty.

Complainant alleged that her husband had struck her several times since they were married in April last, and they had separated three times.

Defendant complained that she would not give him any “snap.”

As Mr. C. E. Marshall (defending) was about to speak. Mr. Mark Nokes (chairman) remarked “I shall get them together if you will sit down.”

Complainant: I shall not go back to him, my life is in danger.

Mr. Nokes: Go and live together. Come back here in a month to let us know how you are getting on.

As defendant left the court, Mr. Nokes called out, “Take your wife with you on your arm.”— He did not.
