Denaby Official’s Ill-Health Causes Resignation

Denaby United supporters will regret to learn that for health reasons Mr. Matt Taylor, Secretary-Manager since shortly after 1947, has had to resign his duties.

Mr. Taylor has not enjoyed the best of health for some time. His first spell as secretary-manager in 1937 was only brief for the same reason, but he took over again shortly after 1947 at the request of the committee. He has been ill at hone for the past two weeks.

He has been succeeded by member of the management committee, former chairman and former secretary-manager, Mr. Arthur Roberts, whose son plays with the club and made 25 first team appearances last season.

Denaby, who entertain Upton in the F.A. cup to-morrow (k.o. 3.15) were beaten 5-1 at Nottingham Forest Reserves on Wednesday.
