Denaby Utd – JC Johnson and Green to Sheffield Wednesday

April 1927

Mexborough and Swinton Times April 29, 1927

The transfer of JC Johnson and A Green to Sheffield Wednesday was pleasing to followers of Denaby football, though it meant losing two promising players.

The clubs benefits through the fee was not large, and it shows that Denaby is a good nursery and that the committee also have in mind the future of those who have aided them, for the players themselves got good terms.

Denaby wishes them luck. Johnson is a particularly dashing player, and Green’s deft touches had been a valuable asset. He play football without apparent effort, and if he will “have a go” occasionally instead of passing he will get goals.
