The children had been trained by Mr. J Bradley (headmaster of St. Alban’s schools). Kathleen Dolly, Dorothy Rose, Mary Connelly and Winnine Prendergast took part in the dances. Mary Rodgers and Kathleen McDonnell rendered solos, and Nellie Knight played a violin solo and also accompanied the jigs and reels.
The feature of the entertainment was a sketch, “The Haunted House,” in which the parts where played by V. Brady, K. McDonnell, M. Knight and M. Rodgers.
About 120 children sat down to tea, and there was a large attendance for the concert and dance. Mr. T. Dolly was M.C. for the dance, and Mrs. William’s Band played. The effort was for the parish debt liquidation funds.
