Over Sixties.

When 120 members of Conisbrough Over Sixties Club arrived at Whitby last Monday, they were greeted by sunshine – but in the afternoon there was a steady downpour. The trip had been organised by the Club committee and each member was given 5 shillings. The money for the outing had been raised by special competitions throughout the year and at Christmas. It is hoped to organise a further trip before the summer is over.

Competition winners last Thursday were Mesdames Threlkell, Walker, Marsden, Unwin, Chapman, Hinchcliffe, Jackson, Richards, Barker, Saxon, Ellis, Collinson, Holgate, Redfern, and Colclough and Mr Longden. Special competition prizes, given by Mrs. A. E. Rose and a member, were won by Mrs. Colclough and Mrs. Maddison.

Dales Trip.

The St. Andrew’s Mission mothers held a trip on Wednesday to North Yorkshire. They went via Wetherby, Wharfedale, Ilkley and Skipton to the Dales, and visited Horton-in Ribblesdale, where Capt. Omerod Simpson’s father-in-law and mother-in-law live.

To Rhyl.

About 40 members and friends of Conisbrough Old People’s choir had a trip on Wednesday to Rhyl. The money for the trip had been raised through competitions held throughout the year, and the outing was organised by the choir secretary, Mrs. A. E. Rose.
