Open Air Bathing
Mr GGP Morgan, a former Cadeby Colliery worker now living in London, has sent us two photographs of old Denaby taken during his boyhood days in the village.
Unfortunately the photographs, one showing Denaby’s old outdoor swimming bath and the other picturing Cadeby Colliery Officials, will not reproduce satisfactory. Mr Morgan, now of 16 Methuen Park, Muswell Hill, London N 10, left Denaby 35 years ago.
In a letter to the “South Yorkshire Times” he tells us that he was employed at Cadeby Colliery as an office boy to Mr W.H.Chambers, then managing director of the colliery company. He later worked in the Surveying Department until 1930.
Mr Morgan father, who was an official at Cadeby, died in 1948.
