Sunday Trading at Denaby

A Denaby newsagent, name William Lewis, was summoned for having exercised his ordinary calling on Sunday 25th of March.

PC Wailes said at 12:45 PM on the date in question, he saw the defendant selling papers from a cart at conisborough.

He watched him for some time and saw 10 men and women purchase different kinds of newspapers.

Witness spoke to defendant about it, and at 3:10 PM the same afternoon he again saw him selling papers.

Police Sgt Horton also gave evidence.

The defendant, who did not appear, was fined five shillings including costs.
