Young Walter Wadsworth is the latest to be added to the list of Kilnhurst products to enter better class football. He was tried out by Denaby on Monday against Doncaster Rovers and gave a sufficiently satisfactory display to justify his inclusion in the team for the Midland League match at Loughborough on Saturday.

He is the cricketer who showed such good form for Kilnhurst in the Mexborough league tournament last season that Mexborough introduced into the Yorkshire Council game and he made good use of his chance this.

As in cricket, as a footballer is a thorough trier, lacking nothing of plug or determination. On Thursday sure rawness in footwork, but he crossed the ball well, revealed a fair pace, and was dangerous because of his directness of method.
