Conisbrough’s “Gunmen”
Police to Check Street Risks.
Police in Conisbrough and Denaby are becoming very concerned over the number of cases of youths roaming the street of the township carrying loaded air guns and firing them on public highways.
A police official told a reporter on Monday that every effort was being made by the police to check this practice, constables on their beat have been briefed to keep a keen watch for shooting.
He said that the police would take action when they caught offenders. He said that a youth had been caught and was fined £2 at Doncaster West Riding Court recently.
”It is a very dangerous place,” he said. “They go shooting in the surrounding woods and then come home and shoot off any spare pellets they have left.”
