A Denaby setback
Beaten by the Forest
Nottingham Forest Reserve 4 Denaby United 0
Denaby United: Mitchell; Haslam and Taylor; Kennedy, Cowan and Hill; Hamilton, Bretnallg, Burkinshaw, Godfrey and Powell
On Monday night, Denaby United went to Nottingham to play theirpostponed return fixture with the Forest Reserve. There was only a handful of spectators.
Denaby were a weak andtired team, and did not do themselves justice. Forest had a goodside out.
Hamilton was not fully recovered from the injury he received at Wombwell, and was ineffective throughout the game, while Cowan was obviously unfit, and should not have played at all. Taylor early moved himto right half, but the arrangement would not do, and he went back to centre. He had a toe injury in the game with Gainsborough, last Saturday, and was very lame.
Denaby in spite of the handicaps, put up a spirited display, and the defeat of 4-0 which Forrest visited on them fairly represented the balance of play, for they won and wasted a number of good scoring chances.
