Denaby’s Sequence of Victories.
Denaby United 2 Nottingham Forest Rev 1
By defeating Nottingham Forest Reserves by two goals to one, on Saturday, Denaby United brought off their fifth successive win at Denaby. The game suffered in quality through the unfavourable conditions, the frost-bound ground making correct passing and shooting a matter of difficulty.
Denaby were the better team, and but for their weakness in finishing should have won a wider margin. The Forest were fast, but were well held after their opening burst, which resulted in a goal.
For Denaby, the defence was again in good form, the half-backs working successfully. The forwards, however, were not so happy as in their recent matches.
On the Forest side Radnall gave a clever display in goal, and the backs were stout-hearted fellows all through. The forwards were inconsistent, at periods showing good form, and then again falling away to mediocrity.
