Notts County Reserves, who included four amateurs, piled the pressure in the second half at Denaby and finished comfortable winners.

Encouraged by an early penalty goal, scored by Green. Denaby played spiritedly throughout the first half and had rather more of the game, although Houghton equalised. During this time and Ellison generally had the measure of the County forward line, and Denaby had the chance to increase their advantage.
