Full details of Denaby United’s new players signed for the season beginning on August 23rd are :
Professional: J. Williams from Grantham, formerly of Rotherham United, a full back; Cyril Bunclark from Gainsborough formerly Rotherham United, an outside right; Raymond Markham from Blyth Spartans, a wing half; D. Oslear from Gainsborough, a goalkeeper; P. Miller from Frickley Colliery, a full back; Barry Gover from Goole, a full back; P. Swaby from Gainsborough, a centre forward; L. Hanniki from Bowbroom and formerly with Rotherham United, an inside right; L. Bailey from Matlock, a wing half; Bernard Hannaby from Retford, an Inside forward; Dennis Friel from Worksop, inside or outside left; James Collins from Grantham, a centre forward; Robert Bainbridge from Frickley, an outside left.
Amateurs: W. Cope from Edlington, a centre forward; J. Moran from Goole, an inside right; B. Furniss of Doncaster, a forward; A. MacDonald from Atlas and Norfolk, an inside forward; G. Nicholson of Denaby Tom Hill Y.C., a right half; J. Webster from Goole an inside forward; M. Whyke from Barnsley, an outside right; E. Morley from Swinton, an inside forward; D. Five professionals and one amateur with the club last season are retained: They are Professionals: Smethurst, Bedford, Lawley, Allott, Pilkington; and Amateur: K. Blood.
The season starts on August 23rd when Denaby play Stockton at Denaby. Pactice matches are to be held on August 9th and 16th.
