An Explosives Licence.

October 1888

Sheffield Independent – Tuesday 09 October 1888

An Explosives Licence.

Mr. F. 0. Monkland, 78, Gracechurch street, London, solicitor, applied on behalf of the Flameless Explosives Company for permission to manufacture explosives at Denaby.

Mr. Monkland explained that it intended to erect an establishment for the manufacture of explosives, and that was the day fixed by the magistrates a few weeks ago for the hearing of the application.

The notices had been advertised in the newspapers, and published on the doors of churches and chapels. The nearest erection was the Denaby Main Colliery, and there were no cottages or inhabited houses in the vicinity.

The magistrates granted the licence.
