Suicide at Consborough.
At the Star Hotel, Conisborough yesterday, Mr. F.E. Nicholson (district coroner) held an inquest upon the body of William Crookes, a miner, aged 46 whose body was recovered from the river at Conisborough, on Saturday morning.
Deceased, who threatened to commit suicide a short time ago, left shortly after seven o’clock on Friday night. He called the Castle Inn, and was never afterwards seen alive.
A coat and hat were found on the canal bank, and dragging operations were commenced, the result being the body was found by Tom Nicholson at 9.20 on Saturday morning.
A verdict chat the “Deceased committed suicide whilst temporarily insane” was returned.
