Orchard Robbers Fined
Victor Kitching (17) and Horace Tasker (15), pony-drivers of Conisbro’ Bridge, were at Barnsley, today each fined 20s. for stealing growing pears from the orchards of Mr. Jos. Raley, Darlev Cliff.
Mr. Cecil M. Pratt, prosecuting said robberies of orchards were becoming very serious in the district and fruitgrowers suffered big losses.
This orchard had been practically stripped and a great deal of damage done to the trees.
