Denaby Men in Custody

“Guilty, Bench,” pleaded George Thompson, was charged, in custody, by PC Grimshaw, with having being drunk and disorderly at Conisbrough the previous night.

Thompson, who wore a black eye, was fined 40 shillings with the alternative of 14 days. He had been up thrice before; twice this year.

John Cullen, of Denaby, was let off with 2/6 and costs.

PC Middleton found him at half past to that morning. He was drunk and disorderly, brandishing a knife, and threatening to rip somebody.

Cullen told the Bench that some chaps had stolen his watch. He admitted being drunk.
