Conisbro’ 123 Hope Glass Works 124 for 4
Playing against Conisbro’ the Mexborough League, Hope Glass Works brought, off a very creditable win.
Three of the home batsmen gave some trouble, and Conisbro’s innings yielded a total of 123 runs.
The Works team passed that figure for the loss of but four wickets, the chief run-getters being Swann (43), Bradford (39 not out), and 8. Harrison (23). On behalf of the winners, Catton secured four wickets for 35 runs, Massey three for 28, and Stoner three for 35.
The first two Conisbro’ wickets fell to Catton his first over. Bradford was very smart behind the wickets, and stumped three of the visitors out, his first victim being Bury, who was in the act of “having a go” for Lis fifty. Glass Works lost three wickets for runs, but on Swann and Bradford getting together the score was carried to 118, and the remainder of the runs required were soon added.
