Gallant Girls.

These little girls, Kathleen Durkin (left) and Eileen Wright, displayed commendable pluck and promptitude last Saturday in an emergency during the schools swimming gala in the Denaby Baths. They noticed a girl, Ida Lowe, collapse while taking part in the swimming and, fully dressed, they plunged in and brought her to the side before many of the onlookers had realised her danger.
The photograph shows Canon Leteux, to whose school they belong, commending them for their bravery and presence of mind.

The incident is to be reported to the Conisborough Urban District Council with a view to official recognition.
