A New Councillor.
Mr Maurice Patrick Knowles, of Park Road, Conisbrough, the new East Ward representative on Conisbrough Urban District Council, has lived for many years in the township.
A native of Bradford, he came to Conisbrough in 1901 to join the staff of the Morley Place Council School after having held teaching appointments in Bradford. He retired in 1937.
Mr Knowles was secretary of the Mexborough and District Branch of the National Union of Teachers for some year.
