Crippled Soldier Assaulted.
On Saturday, at Doncaster, Parker Cairns, a miner, of Denaby was fined 40s., and ordered to pay £1 to Wm. Holdsworth, a crippled ex-soldier for damaging his teeth.
He was charged with assaulting Wadsworth.
On Aug 30th they had some words about a cigarette and defendant struck him under the jaw, breaking his teeth. He was off work three days.
The defence was that the blow was struck in self-defence but he regretted it.
