Denaby Defeated at Thornhill.
Thornhill United 3 Denaby United 0
After an absence of a week or two Thornhill turned out at home on Saturday in the Sheffield Association League, their opponents being Denaby United.
The weather was not of the best character, but, despite this fact something like 800 spectators assembled to witness the encounter.
Playing downhill, Denaby kept on fairly equal terms with the own team, but on the change of ends. They decided improvement was noticeable in the home front rank, and two more goals were piled on before the whistle was blown for time.
This makes Thornhill’s seventh victory in the league and supporters of the team must feel proud of their team’s position in the League table, which I might say is the third at the time of writing
Denaby Team:
Hardy goal; E Whitehouse and Lawley backs; Freeman, A Whitehouse and Sheldrake, halfbacks; T Hardy, Roper, Ball, Chapman, and Goodwin, forwards.
