Sergt. L. Whitehead, of 6, Barnburgh Street, Denaby, who has been reported missing,If has had rather a varied career inthe Army.
He has served for about twenty years and has seen seven year’s service in India with the York and Lancaster Regiment. Later he joined the KOY.L.I. and again volunteered for service at the outbreak of the present war.
He came home in January and after his return he was transferred to the tunnelling section of the Royal Engineers.
For many weeks Mrs Whitehead received no news of him and then, as reported in our columns, she received notification that he was missing.
