A Disorderly Denaby Striker
At the West Riding Ct, Doncaster on Tuesday, John Fuller, miner, was charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting PC Wailes at Conisborough on Monday night.
Defendant formerly worked at the Denaby colliery, and when the strike occurred went to Nottingham, but on Monday came back to sign-on. He did not do so.
About 12 o’clock at night he was creating a disturbance near the Station Hotel, and when spoken to be came disorderly, and struck and kicked the officer, who, with the assistance of PC Lockwood, succeeded in locking him up. When at the railway station that morning defendant repeated the assault.
He was fined 10/– and costs for the first offence and 20/– and costs for the assault, or 20 days to prison
