Killed in Tunisia
News has reached Doncaster that Bombardier L. A. Dudhill (28), R.A., Anti-Tank Corps, was killed in action in Tunisia during recent fighting.
Bdr. Dudhill was well known in the Conisbrough and Denaby district, and latterly in Doncaster, He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A, Dudhill, 54, Tickhill Street, Denaby.
After leaving school he was with David Haigh, Ltd., pawnbrokers and general dealers, at their main depot at Denaby, but when war broke out he was manager of their branch at Balby, Doncaster. He played football at school, and later for Haigh’s team in the Thursday League up to joining the Army in June, 1940
He went on foreign service nearly a year ago. In September 1938. Bdr. Dudhill married Nurse Kathleen Reynolds, then on the staff of Edenfield Nursing Home, Doncaster. There is one child of the marriage. a boy 3 ½ years old.
Mrs. Dudhill has received a letter from her husband’s major saying he saw him buried and that the grave has been located for identification after the war.
