Four Killed By Burst Tank
Four men have died from injuries received when a steam tank burst in Cade by Colliery yard, Conisborough, Yorkshire, on Saturday.
They were Ernest benior, aged 41, surface worker, Castle Grove, Conisborough: Joseph Pearson, aged 32. fitter, of Ravenfield Street, Denaby; William Haynes Sturgess, surface worker, of Braithwell btreet. Denaby; and Joseph Laxton Lunn, aged 56, surface worker, Doncaster Road, Conisborough. All were married.
Normally the men would have finished at noon, but stayed on special maintenance work.

Conisbrough Tank Burst Kills Four Workmen
Four men lost their lives when a steam receiving tank at Cadeby Colliery Conisbrough, burst on Saturday afternoon while they were working nearby.
The men were: Joseph Pearson (33). fitter, Ravenfield Street, Denab, William Haynes Sturgess (52), surface worker Street. Denaby; surface Road. Braithwell btreet. Denaby; Joseph Laxton Lunn (56), surface worker .
All the men were badly injured and were taken to the Fullerton Hospital, Denaby, where Sturgess and Lunn died soon after admission. and Pearsor. and Senior late on Saturday night.
Normally the men have finished work at noon, but were staying on to do some special maintenance work.
The tank, which is 20ft high and 10ft. in diameter, was hurled over a 12ft high gantry.
