The Charge of Arson at Conisboro’,
James Jarvis, of Conisboro’, was charged with setting fire to a stack at Harthill on the 7th inst.
Superintendent Hammond stated that the defendant had admitted that be set fire to the haystack accidentally with his pipe. In answer to the magistrates, the Superintendent said he was satisfied with defendant’s statement, and he was thereupon discharged.
