Cannibalism At Mexborough

At the Doncaster West Riding Police-court, on Saturday, George Stephenson, of Mexbro’, was summoned by Enoch Hall, of Denaby, with an assault.

On the night of the Saturday previous complainant and defendant met on the road between Mexbro’ and Denaby. They quarrelled and fought and both fell to the ground.

While in the road defendant bit complainant’s nose until it only hung by a piece of skin. As defendant had arranged to pay complainant’s surgeon’s bill the bench fined him only 10s 6d. including costs.
