Allowing Cattle to Stray on The Highway at Thurnscoe.

Joseph Gillott, of Conisbro’, was charged with allowing his cattle to stray on the highway at Thurnscoe, on the 1st inst.

P.C. Marshall deposed that on the 1st inst., he was on duty at Thurnscoe, and saw nine beasts on the highway straying. Went and told defendant’s wife. The son came back and said they were their cattle. Assisted him with them into the field. Had previously cautioned him about the same thing.

Fined 5s., costs 10s. 6d.
