Cricket Match and Supper at Denaby.

A cricket match was recently played at Denaby between 22 and 11 players of the Colliery Club, and was won by the 22, with 4 runs to spare.

On Wednesday week, the 29th of May, an excellent supper was provided at the Keresby Arms, under the careful superintendence of Mr. and Mrs. Slater, the worthy host and hostess, and to which upwards of 30 attended, and partook of the good things provided to the satisfaction of all present.

After the removal of the cloth the chair was ably occupied by Mr. Backhouse, and a very enjoyable evening followed, the proceedings being interspersed at intervals with songs and recitations by the Members.

After giving hearty cheers for the host and hostess, the proceedings closed at the usual hour.
