Buried by Fall of Roof

February 1884

Sheffield Independent – Friday 01 February 1884

A miner, named George Parr, was yesterday buried by a fall of roof in the Denaby Colliery.

His fellow workmen, after four hours’ work, removed the debris, and were surprised to find the unfortunate man was still alive, the bind having been held off his head by the props.

It is feared that Parr will succumb.
