A special meeting of this board was held on Tuesday evening, when there were present:—Messrs. Kilner (in the chair), Johnson, and Nicholson. It was decided that a testimonial be drawn up for Mr. Ferdinand, the headmaster, who had resigned.
The resignation of Mr. North, the assistant master, was accepted. A cheque for £12 was signed for Captain Johnson on the school account.
It was decided that summonses be issued against several persons for the irregularity of attendance of children. The salary of Mr. Harrison, the attendance officer, was raised from £16 to £20, in consideration of an increase of duties, in having to look after a certain portion of the village of Denaby, which is in the Conisbro’ parish.
