Theft from Doncaster

May 1877

Sheffield Independent – Friday 18 May 1877

Catherine Cannon, of Conisbro’, was charged with stealing a quantity of wearing apparel, the property of Joseph Roberts, who had arrived at the Wakefield station by an express train from Holbeck on Saturday.

His luggage, however, went on to Doncaster, and there it was claimed and taken away by the prisoner.

Mr. A. Shirley appeared for the Great Northern Company, and the prisoner was committed for trial.
