Dog without a Licence

Thos. Gabbites, Conisbro’, was summoned for keeping a dog without a licence.

Police-constable Guylee said he saw a fox-terrier dog in the defendant’s house. He said that the dog belonged to his son, who had enlisted for a soldier, and gone away from Conisbro’. His son had not taken out a licence for the animal.

Defendant was fined 25s., in default ten days’ imprisonment.

John Dixon, farmer, Conisbro’, was charged with a similar offence. He said the animal was a shepherd dog.

The Bench inflicted a penalty of 25s., including costs.
