Negliging to Support Mother

James Isherwood, labourer, Thorpe Hesley, and late West Riding constable, was summoned for neglecting to contribute towards the support of his mother. Defendant was a constable, and when he was applied to for relief he left Conisbro’, where he was employed, but was afterwards apprehended. He was now ordered to pay 2s. 6d. per week and 17s. costs.

Alfd. Walker, labourer, Tickhill, for being drunk and disorderly on Thursday night, the 8th inst., was fined 15s. and 12s. 6d. costs.

Thomas Jones, collier, Bolton, for a similar offence at Bolton, on the 10th inst., was fined 15s. and 10s. costs.

Thos. Whittaker, labourer, Conisbro’, and Geo. Brown, collier, Denaby, for gambling at Conisbro’, the Sunday afternoon before, were fined, the former 5s. and the latter 10s., and each 12s. 6d. costs.
