Flooding in Dearne Valley

Owing to the continuance of rain from Friday night the River Dearne has overflowed its banks, and in the vicinity of the confluence of the Don and the Dearne, hundreds of acres of land are submerged.

The fields from Denaby to Arlington present the appearance of a great lake. The land which has submerged near to Denaby Main Colliery is now covered with water.

The River Don, below Mexbro’, is also very much swollen.
