Obstructing the Highway.

Richard Rogers, Stephen Brown, and John Batty were charged with obstructing the highway at Denaby on the 25th ult.

Police-constable Kendall said he saw the three defendants in company with several others standing on the footpath. He watched them for a quarter of an hour. Batty gave a false name, and after a long search he discovered that his name was Abraham Chambers.

Brown called the other two defendants to prove that he was not on the footpath.

Chambers was fined 5s. and costs, and the other two defendants 2s. 6d. and costs.
