This match was played on Saturday at Bramall Lane, in the presence of a fair number of spectators. The former, winning the toss, sent Mosforth and Wheatcroft to open their innings, and it was not till 80 runs were registered that a separation took place, Wheatcroft retiring. Malpas followed.

Shortly after Mosforth was bowled, his principal hits being two sixes, two fives, four fours, and nine threes. It must also be stated that Malpas played a chanceless not out innings.
