Sheffield Independent — Thursday 23 August 1883
Conisbro’ Gas Company.
An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Conisbro’ Gas Company was held yesterday, Mr. E. Crawshaw presiding, to take into consideration the raising of further capital necessary to carry on the increasing requirements of the company.
Two reports were presented, one from Mr. Bridge, manager of the Doncaster Gas Works, and the other from Mr. Goodwin, of the Rotherham Works, stating what, in their opinion, should be done to the works, and estimating the expense at about £350.
After some discussion it was resolved to adjourn the meeting to give the shareholders time to consider which report they would adopt, and whether the capital required should be raised by new shares, or paid out of revenue.
