Denaby United 3 Grimsby Reserve 1
At Denaby, before a small gate, Denaby pressed first, the Grimsby goalkeeper saving well from Chapman. Grimsby were the bigger team, and beat the home side by tricky foot-work, but Massey saved magnificently from Carrick.
Hosey should have scored, but put well wide. Elkins, with only Massey to beat, hit the cross-bar. Torr scored for Denaby, and Hosey got another goal.
On resuming, Denaby pressed, and Harmsworth miskicked. Dyall beat Horner easily. From a free kick Grimsby rushed up and Elkins scored. Grimsby now pressed, but the defence was sound, Massey saving well. Denaby pressed to the finish.
Result: Denaby United, 3 goals; Grimsby Reserve, 1 goal.
