Denaby Main

Accidents

On Monday evening a girl named Annie Lyth was knocked down by a runaway pony belonging to Mr. J. Crosland, butcher, and severely bruised about the face. Her injuries were attended to by Dr. Howse, and she was sufficiently recovered as to be removed by Mr. Crossley on Wednesday to South Kirkby, where her parents reside.

A serious accident befell a night dataller named Thomas Bramley at the Denaby Main Colliery early on Monday morning, when he received severe injuries to his back and side by being crushed with a full tub. He was removed in the ambulance to the Mexborough Cottage Hospital, where he was attended by Dr. Gilchrist, assistant to Dr. McCall, and is now progressing favourably.
