Refusing to Quit at Denaby

Sam Wagstaff and Michael Moran, miners of New Conisboro’, were summoned at the instance of Wm. Isaac Gibbs, landlord of the Denaby Main Hotel, for being disorderly and refusing to quit his licensed premises on the 21st June.

Henry Fazakerley, a waiter, said on Tuesday morning the two defendants were at the dramshop and started quarrelling.

He refused to fill them any more beer and ejected them.

The fight was continued in the street.

Moran was the aggressor all the time.

Mr. Gibbs gave evidence.

P.C. Wiles stated that he saw Wagstaff afterwards; he was covered with blood from a cut in his lip.

He told him he would be reported.

He found out that the other man lived in Clifton Street.

Wagstaff was fined 5s. and 11s. costs, and Moran was fined 13s. costs.
