Conisboro’ Pugilists

Two “Patricks,” Gain and Riley, colliers, of Conisboro’, were summoned for committing a breach of the peace by fighting at Conisboro’ on the 17th inst. The defendants pleaded guilty.

P.C. Wells said at 8 p.m. the previous Saturday, he, in company with P.C. Lunn, was on duty in Loverall-street, when he saw a crowd of people. The constables went up and found the defendants fighting. Both were bleeding about the head and hands. They were separated, and told they would be reported.

Defendants were ordered to each pay 6s. 6d. and costs, the magistrates saying that if they came again they would have to be bound over to keep the peace.
