Alleged Theft of a Watch at Denaby

On Monday, at the Doncaster West Riding Police Court, Levi Baxendale, pit boy, Denaby, was charged with stealing a watch belonging to Ralph Marsh, miner, Denaby.

Prosecutor said that on Saturday he left his watch in his waistcoat pocket at the “gate end.” When he went for his breakfast it was gone, and afterwards it was discovered by one of the under-viewers hidden under the boy’s cap.

Remanded until Saturday.
