Indecent Behaviour at Conisboro’

Geo. Curtis, glassblower, of Conisboro’, was charged by Louisa Long, of that village, with indecently exposing his person.

The complainant expressed a desire to withdraw the case, the defendant having apologised for what he had done and paid costs.

In answer to Lord Auckland, the complainant said the man had insulted her before, but not so grossly. It was when she was going into the tap-room that he insulted her.

Lord Auckland said it was ridiculous to take out a summons in a case like this and then to withdraw it.

The magistrates thought the offence was one which ought not to be allowed to be looked over in this way, but as the complainant pressed that the case might not be heard, it would be withdrawn.
